Santa's Shoe Box Project

For this year’s charity drive I am choosing my personal favourite.

SSB is a charity focussing on kids who do not have what we are so blessed to have.

SSB have small projects going through the year. The latest being a rain poncho drive, for underprivileged children to wear on their way to and from school, so that they, (and all of their work), do not get drenched during their long walks.

The main drive is the shoe box project. Every year a huge list of names of kids who have nothing is released, for you to choose from. The list starts at tiny babies and goes up all the way into the end of the teen years.

Then for each child you pick, you will fill a shoe box with stationary for school, an item of clothing, some toiletries and a toy. Most of these things are obviously basic necessities that these children have no access to.

How can you help?

I am currently looking for old shoe boxes that I am busy wrapping up to use. One shoe box goes to one child. So, the more boxes we get, the more children we can ‘spoil’.

Also, I need box fillers. (Basic stationary, toothpaste, toothbrushes, bar of soap, face clothes, items of clothing, sweets etc).

Please not no used items, only new ones are accepted.

If you are unable to donate shoeboxes or box fillers, you are welcome to leave any small amount in a piggy bank that I will be keeping at my reception desk. Alternatively, I can send my bank details for you to EFT to. All contributions will be put into the cost of box fillers for the kiddies.

I am so excited about this drive that I have wrapped 3 boxes already!!
